TRUST – Healing & Consultancy with Deborah J Crozier

At the heart of recovery is the ability to feel safe, connected, and understood. That begins with TRUST.

I am Deborah J Crozier, a Trauma-Informed Practitioner, Consultant, and Educator.

Through one-to-one therapy, training, and consultancy, I support individuals, schools, and workplaces to move beyond survival and build environments where people can thrive.

About Deborah J Crozier

A Person-Centred Counsellor and Trauma Informed Practitioner since 2018, my own journey of self-discovery has spanned more than thirty years. I blend lived experience with professional expertise. Alongside my private practice, I lead community projects through A Positive Start CIC, creating collaborative initiatives such as the River Room Songbook - a trauma-informed children's resource combining music, storytelling, and nervous system regulation. I also created the STAND- Parents as protectors programme, empowering parents with knowledge and confidence to safeguard their children, Self-Discovery for Recovery and the Reconnect & Regulate Workshops, which help adults understand and manage their nervous system responses. These projects reflect my belief in making trauma-informed support accessible to all, while also demonstrating my ability to bridge therapy, education and community healing.

Trauma-Informed Practice

I specialise in trauma-informed practice, recognising the widespread impact of trauma and respond with compassion, safety, and understanding. Rather than focusing on behaviours or symptoms in isolation, I look at the whole person and the story behind their experiences. Trauma informed practice shifts the question from 'What's wrong with you?' to 'What happened to you?', creating space for dignity, truth, and healing.

My work combines lived experience with professional expertise to support individuals, schools, and workplaces in moving from dysregulation and survival back to safety, resilience, and growth. This approach not only helps people reconnect with themselves, but also transforms how organisations respond to stress, safeguarding, and wellbeing.

Holistic Approaches

My approach is holistic, recognising the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit. Trauma doesn't just affect how we think or feel - it is carried in the nervous system, in the body ,and in the way we relate to ourselves and others. That's why I bring together talking therapy with practices that support physical regulation and inner calm, such as grounding, breathwork, creative expression, and mindfulness. By addressing all aspects of a person, I help clients restore balance, reconnect with their inner strength, and move towards healing that is not only psychological, but also physical, emotional, and spiritual.

Workshops & Training

Alongside one-to-one therapy, I design and deliver workshops and training programmes for schools, workplaces, and community organisations. My sessions are trauma-informed, interactive, and accessible, giving participants both knowledge and practical tools they can use straight away. Topics include emotional regulation, boundaries, communication, resilience, safeguarding, and creating safe environments.

Whether working with teachers, staff teams, parents, or professionals, my focus is always on building awareness, confidence, and connection, so that people not only understand trauma but also know how to respond with compassion in real situations.

Consultancy Services

I offer consultancy services for schools, workplaces, and organisations seeking to embed trauma-informed approaches into their culture. This includes reviewing policies and practices, advising leadership teams, and developing strategies that prioritise wellbeing, safeguarding, and relational safety. My consultancy work bridges lived experience with professional expertise, helping organisations move beyond theory into practical change. Whether the focus in staff resilience, safeguarding practice, or creating environments that  support regulation and growth, I provide tailored guidance that builds stronger, healthier, and more compassionate systems.

Ambassadorship

I am honoured to serve as a Global Presence Ambassador for Parenting 2.0 Life Skills and as a UK ambassador for the My Body is My Body programme. Both roles reflect my commitment to child protection, education, and trauma-informed practice on an international scale. Through Parenting 2.0, I advocate for the teaching of essential life skills as a foundation for healthier futures. With My Body is My Body, I support one of the worlds most widely taught child abuse prevention programmes, ensuring children have the tools to recognise unsafe situations and seek help.

These ambassadorships allow me to extend my work beyond local communities, contributing to global efforts to safeguard and empower children.
